The Education and Job Center is part of the labor market administration and is responsible for Uppsala municipality's labor market activities. The labor market administration works with labor market initiatives, income support, adult education, the introduction of newcomers, and consumer issues. We work closely with the business community and labor market partners to increase the opportunities for individuals to establish themselves in the labor market. Guiding our work is the belief that everyone should be offered the opportunity for self-sufficiency.
This is a project employment and the position will be filled provided that the project is approved, with a decision expected no later than May.
Your mission
We are looking for an engaged project manager for the Framtidskraft project, which is funded by the European Social Fund in Sweden (ESF), aimed at reducing economic vulnerability among young adults aged 18-29 in Gottsunda. The purpose of the project is to equip young adults for work and studies, increase self-empowerment, increase trust in themselves and others, increase trust in society and authorities, as well as increase participation and community engagement.
As a project manager, you will be responsible for coordinating efforts, planning, and implementing activities in collaboration with the target group. You will work 75% as a project manager and 25% as a project employee. The team also includes a full-time project employee.
Main tasks:
- Lead and coordinate the project according to plan and ESF's requirements as per the steering group's directives.
- Plan and implement activities together with the target group and other actors in the area.
- Create and maintain collaborations with, for example, Study Promotion, the labor market department, associations, and other administrations.
- Market the project, recruit participants, and ensure visibility in the area.
- Document, report, and follow up on finances according to ESF's guidelines.
- Evaluate and adapt efforts based on participants' needs.
You ensure that the project is carried out according to set goals, timelines, and budget.
Working hours are flexible and evening and weekend work may occur.
Your background
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma and several years of experience in project management of ESF projects focusing on social work and method development. If you have project management training, that is an advantage. For this assignment, we are looking for someone with experience working in a politically governed organization and with labor market initiatives. You should have a good understanding of labor market issues, adult education, and social support, as well as knowledge of equality, accessibility, and non-discrimination. It is also a requirement that you have experience in outreach work with young adults. Experience in service design, motivational interviewing (MI), or sense of coherence (KASAM) is an advantage.
As a person, you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships. You are a good analyst who can see connections and solve complex questions and problems. Furthermore, you are a responsible person who drives their work forward to achieve results. You are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work with the ability to be flexible and see opportunities in changes.
